Great food presented well is essential to a successfully catered event. But usually there are other very important decisions that must be considered.
The Venue: There are casual “outdoor” venues and very formal occasions demand indoor elegance. Haw River Catering is experienced in any venue. Ask us and we can recommend locations to you or refer you to an event planner to help with your venue search.
Minimum Order: Our minimum is $750 for a full service event and $300 when we deliver only.
Event Types: The “event type” is determined entirely by the nature of the client’s occasion, their budget, and the venue. Your event might call for a buffet line, or specialty food stations, or wait staff serving your guests during a reception. And there are those times when a plated serving will best meet the need. When you decide on your menu and we better understand the circumstances of your event, we can then recommend and decide with you how Haw River Catering can best be of service.
Deposits: We require a deposit for you to reserve your date with us of $400 for groups of 75 or less and $750 for groups larger than 75.
Service Charge: In some instances a service fee will be charged to cover certain costs.
Cancellation Policy: If a group 75 or less cancels in thirty days or less prior to the event the deposit is forfeited unless the event is rescheduled to a mutually agreeable date. If a group larger than 75 cancels in forty-five days or less prior to the event the deposit is forfeited unless the event is rescheduled to a mutually agreeable date.
Advance booking: At the absolute minimum please book with us ten days in advance. For weddings and events requiring a variety of services (and oftentimes venue selection) we encourage booking with us months in advance.
Gratuities: Gratuities are not included in our fee. Our crew, however, always appreciates being tipped for their hard work.
Forms of payment: We gladly accept all major cards, personal checks, and cash.
Licensed and insured: Yes, we certainly are.
Staff Dress Code: Our team dresses in tasteful black, and we always work in our stylish Haw River apron.
Dietary Needs: Please tell us about your dietary restrictions when we first meet so your needs can be considered as we plan the menu and event.
Food Tasting: We can often do a food tasting… this depends largely on the food items being considered.
