5 Tips for a successful event

When it comes to events that require catering, such as Weddings, Corporate Meetings, or Private Dinner Parties, there are typically two goals for everyone involved. The first goal; Survive. The second goal; Success. From the word “Go”, things are typically very hectic and fast paced. Thus the reason that everyone should take five minutes and become familiar with the tips below.

    1. Breathe: Oftentimes, large endeavors with serious consequences produce anxiety. Weddings, important corporate events, and signature personal parties are not just another stroll in the park. So take a deep breath and remember… experts and some of your close friends have done it before. Don’t forget to breathe… help is around the corner.
    2. Make a list: We’ve heard this one before; How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Produce an initial check list and don’t get it perfect… the list will expand and refine as you move into the project. The list will make the event workable. List making resources.
    3. Trust Your Instincts: Search the web and ask around for caterers who can possibly do your job. Listen to your instincts… your first objective is to come up with a few solid possibilities. You don’t have to make your final pick immediately. Instincts are great to narrow the field.
    4. Listen: Have you ever really needed someone to listen, but instead they continued to talk, talk, talk? Listening is a two way street. When you are responsible for coordinating a big event, you must ensure that the professionals you consider are second to none in the listening category. One thing to remember, you must also listen. The professionals you hire to help with your event have years of great experience behind them. If you listen to their counsel, everyone wins. Practice your listening while asking your potential caterers these questions.
    5. Three Legged Stool: Ever seen a stool with just two legs. It’s a pretty serious balancing act just to get it to stand up. Most successful events have two main components. (1) Fabulous Food and (2) Great Everything Else. In order to ensure these two components are the best, make sure your stool has these three legs: (1) A Cooperative Client (that’s you), (2) An Excellent Caterer (that’s us), and (3) An Awesome Event Planner (Find them here). Event Planners specialize in “Everything Else”. We recommend the Event Planners that you find HERE.
